Highlights of the story
- Reading or getting to know Sachchidan and Sinha is like being exposed to a sky
- The collection of Satchidananda Rachnavali in eight volumes has been done in the best way.
There are few people of this type in the tradition of Indian thinking and contemplation who have been working to see and explain time and society as a whole. Those who have the vision of science, can see society as a whole, not through a single prism, have the intellectual ability to combine philosophy and practice, and who do not live with two separate identities towards thought. and practice. One such name in this vast Hindi-speaking tradition of the Ganges coastline is that of Sachchidan and Sinha.
Normally, when any publisher takes the initiative to compile the work of a thinker, writer, critic, and give it the form of a composition or a total, then it gives me additional pleasure. In the history of Hindi, there are more stories of keeping their intellectual ancestors unpublished, abandoned and abandoned. Therefore, the decision to publish any composition should be seen as a historical work from the linguistic and social context of Hindi.
But Rachnavali’s publication of Satchidan and Sinha is a step in that direction. Satchidanand ji’s work is very vast. They have the ability to see and understand art, literature, history, culture, society, human development, science, philosophy, and politics with the same authority. People with such clear vision are few in Hindi and if they are, efforts are being made to bring their vision to people.
Rajkamal Prakashan has done this important work in this direction in the past. Well-known journalist Arvind Mohan has compiled and edited the eight-volume Satchidananda Rachnavali. It would not be wrong to say that apart from Arvind Mohan, almost no one else could have done this job in such a better way. In this edition, Arvind Mohan has tried to give a sequence and a classification to all the articles, books, speeches, etc. of Satchidanand ji, which was a very difficult task in itself. It is no exaggeration to call this composition the best from the point of view of compilation and editing.
Satchidananda is irrational
In fact, to read or know Sachchidan and Sinha is to be exposed to a single sky. There are so many colors in this sky, so many images, in an uninterrupted expanse where nothing seems to be more or less what is said. Looks like he’s saying something about a topic right now and that’s the best part. Then we read them on another topic, then it looks like they are amazing here too and also in the next lesson or topic.
One of the qualities of Satchidanand ji is that he does not look at time just by staying in any genre or periphery of the subject. The poet or writer makes his poem, narrates his voice. Some teach love and some are the pioneers of the revolution. If someone is measuring the radius of human relationships, then someone is seen in nature’s tweet. The world of Satchidanand ji is much bigger than that. Behind this expansion is a long experience and a relentless reading tradition.
Satchidanand ji began his journey of consciousness when India was gaining independence. From politics to social movements, he was active. He grew up listening to people like Nehru in Lohia, Jayaprakash Narayan and Achyut Patwardhan. He watered the canvas of his study and reasoning with the thoughts of many philosophers and critics, thinkers. And then he did the work of cutting and explaining all the themes of life with his conscience.
Editing the composition, Arvind Mohan says, “Today there is hardly anyone who is a better scholar than Satchidananda. At least in matters of social sciences. And why not only in different fields of social sciences like Political Science, Economics, History, Sociology, Anthropology, Philosophy, Art, Culture, Human Psychology, Aesthetics, Religion. Respect for diversity, opposition to centralization and sustainable development are not the For them, values such as equality, freedom, democracy, human rights and respect for all the values of life, non-violence, truth, disarmament are eternal, basic. concern for the environment has also emerged strongly in later writings.
From the labor movement to labor, agriculture, poverty, Bihar development, changes in politics, art history and a global view of Indian society are also important components of the writings of Satchidanand.
Eight volumes of the composition
Rachnavali’s first volume focuses on art, culture, and socialism. The second volume is based on freedom, nationality, the problems of farmers and urban poverty. In the third volume articles related to Gandhi, Lohia, JP and Naxalism have been collected. The fourth section focuses on the Emergency, the Janata Party experiment, the Punjab crisis, and the use of political alliances.
The fifth section deals with the broader discourse of the problem of castes, casteism, and communalism. While the sixth section describes the ideas of the new socialism and the old socialism. The seventh section explores liberalization and globalization. The history of internal colonization and Bihar-centered exploitation is discussed in the last section, that is, in the eighth section.
Satchidananda Rachnavali is not just a single reading compilation. You’ll have to turn it around over and over again. Because as the facts show their new forms in chronology, this composition will act as a spectacle to understand them. In this sense, Sachchidan and Sinha Rachnavali is a collectible document.
Turning this work done with so much effort, only a small inconvenience is seen. Rachnavali is very well introducing the Sachchidananda of consciousness, but perhaps one could not pay attention to show Satchidanand ji in the embodied form. If some images from different periods of Satchidanand ji’s life can also be part of this composition, then it will become a beautiful combination.
