New Delhi: In response to the brutal murder of a tailor in Udaipur, Rajasthan, politicians and religious leaders from various parties have condemned him and demanded action.
Significantly, on Tuesday, two men in Udaipur allegedly killed a tailor with a sharp weapon and made the video public, saying they were taking revenge for the “insult to Islam.”
Tension has been imposed in the area after the incident and ban orders have been imposed for a month, shutting down the internet as a precautionary measure. Several political parties and religious organizations have condemned the incident in unison.
Condemning the incident, Ajmer Dargah Diwan Zainul Abedin Ali Khan said on Tuesday that Muslims in India will never accept the Taliban mentality in the country.
“No religion encourages violence against humanity, especially in Islam, all teachings act as a source of peace,” Khan said in a statement. Khan said the defendants were part of some fundamentalist groups that find solutions through violence.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind general secretary Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi has also condemned the murder incident.
He said in a statement, “Whoever carried out this incident cannot be justified in any way, it is against the law of the country and our religion.” There is a system of law in our country, no one has the right to take the law into their own hands. On this occasion, Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi appealed to all the citizens of the country to control their emotions and play their part in maintaining the law and order in the country.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said these heinous acts will only serve to disrupt the cordial atmosphere.
He called on the authorities to take strict measures against the accused and asked them to keep the peace.

Both the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have demanded strict action against the culprits.
The head of the SP, Akhilesh Yadav, wrote on Twitter: “The number of convictions for the frantic murder in Udaipur is less. Today every person in society has to show up and the country’s fraternity will have to save from hatred.
He also wrote: “Various punishments should be given to these criminal elements in time so that the enemies of peace and tranquility in the country cannot take advantage of them.”

BSP President Mayawati has also strongly condemned the incident and called on everyone to keep the peace.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also condemned the incident on Wednesday, saying violence and extremism are unacceptable.
Banerjee tweeted: “Violence and extremism are unacceptable, whatever it is. I condemn what happened in Udaipur. The law will continue its course. I urge people to keep the peace.

At the same time, Rajasthan’s chief minister, Ashok Gehlot, said on Wednesday that the Udaipur incident is not a minor incident and that it cannot happen unless (defendants) have some connection at the international or national level.

Defendant arrested, NIA will investigate
In the case, both defendants have been arrested by the police. According to police, the accused were captured in the Bhim area of Rajsamand district.
Rajsamand police superintendent Sudhir Choudhary said the two accused were trying to escape on a motorcycle with a helmet, but were caught during the blockade in the Bhima area.
