New Delhi: In response to the brutal murder of a tailor in Udaipur, Rajasthan, politicians and religious leaders from various parties have condemned him and demanded action.

Significantly, on Tuesday, two men in Udaipur allegedly killed a tailor with a sharp weapon and made the video public, saying they were taking revenge for the “insult to Islam.”

Tension has been imposed in the area after the incident and ban orders have been imposed for a month, shutting down the internet as a precautionary measure. Several political parties and religious organizations have condemned the incident in unison.

Condemning the incident, Ajmer Dargah Diwan Zainul Abedin Ali Khan said on Tuesday that Muslims in India will never accept the Taliban mentality in the country.

“No religion encourages violence against humanity, especially in Islam, all teachings act as a source of peace,” Khan said in a statement. Khan said the defendants were part of some fundamentalist groups that find solutions through violence.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind general secretary Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi has also condemned the murder incident.

He said in a statement, “Whoever carried out this incident cannot be justified in any way, it is against the law of the country and our religion.” There is a system of law in our country, no one has the right to take the law into their own hands. He called on the authorities to take strict measures against the accused and asked them to keep the peace.

Both the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have demanded strict action against the culprits.
