As part of the Smart City mission, it has been decided to offer a small lift at a cost of 1.47 million rupees. Currently, people have to climb about 100 steps from Lower Bazar to get to Mallroad.
By elevator, people will reach Middle Bazar from near Sundar Pansari store in Lower Bazar in few seconds. After crossing 8-10 steps from Middle Bazar, you will reach Mallroad. Right now people have to climb 90 to 100 steps to the steep slopes from here. In this place it was planned to install the first escalator. But the viability of the escalator could not be done because of the steep slope and the market on both sides. Therefore, this project has been canceled. It has now been decided to install an elevator here. On Thursday, the Minister of Urban Development, Suresh Bhardwaj, will lay the first stone of this project. Work on this project will be completed by the end of this year. The project has been commissioned from Ropeway Transport Development Corporation.
