Chief Secretary Lonivi RK Sudhanshu said an investigation had been ordered into the collapse of the foundations of the bridge under construction in Rudraprayag’s Narkota. Traffic will remain closed for three days on the Pauri-Devprayag road

The load capacity of the bridge is to be tested on the Pauri-Devprayag motorway, for which movement will be completely stopped for three days from 25 July. During this time, vehicles coming from the route will operate on the Pauri-Srinagar-Devprayag and Pauri-Satpuli-Vyasghat highways. In issuing instructions, the district magistrate Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande has ordered the Department of Transportation and the Police to make the traffic system smooth according to the changes made to the system.

From 25 to 27 July, the Vikas Nigam Rail will assess the load capacity of the bridge in a one-kilometer area located on the Pauri-Devprayag-Gaza-Jajal highway. During this period, vehicular traffic will be closed for the live load test. The district magistrate said it is mandatory to keep vehicular traffic fully closed for bridge load capacity assessment work.

In view of this, traffic on the Pauri-Devprayag motorway will be completely stopped for three days from 25 to 27 July.
