The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded former BJP leader Rani Agarwal as the mayor of Singrauli Municipal Corporation. Rani Aggarwal opened AAP’s account in MP by defeating BJP candidate Chandra Pratap Vishwakarma by a margin of 9,352 votes. Rani Agarwal got 34 thousand 585 votes. While Chandra Pratap Vishwakarma got 25 thousand 233 votes. Congress came third here. His candidate Arvind Singh Chandel got 25 thousand 31 votes. BSP candidate Banshroop Shah came fourth with 12,318 votes. There were a total of 12 candidates here.
Who is Rani Agarwal?
Rani Agarwal, 46, had contested the 2018 assembly elections from the Singrauli seat as an AAP candidate. Then she came third with 22% of the votes. Rani then got 32,167 votes.
