Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has come to the fore after Union Minister Smriti Irani’s daughter was accused of running an illegal bar in Goa. He defended Smriti’s daughter Joish Irani, saying, “The 18-year-old girl should not be portrayed as a villain.” Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted, “18 year olds don’t even know what the process is for getting a license to run a restaurant in India and what kind of punishment there can be.
Priyanka Chaturvedi said, “A girl may have done this to fulfill her dreams, she may have gone wrong.” But an 18-year-old girl shouldn’t be defamed like that. She said, I’m talking about all this as a mother of a 19-year-old boy. I keep my politics separate from that.
In fact, this tweet from Shiv Sena MP has come when Smriti Irani has denied all the allegations. His daughter is said to be a freshman and has no bar. At the same time, he has asked Congress to legally certify his claim.
Congress had made allegations
The Congress had filed complaints against Smriti Irani after the name of Smriti Irani’s daughter allegedly surfaced in an illegal bar operation in Goa. Congress leader Pawan Khera had said in a press conference that a “restaurant” run by Smriti Irani’s daughter in Goa is accused of taking fake licences. This license is in the name of a person who died in May 2021 and the license was taken in June 2022. He had demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack Smriti Irani from the cabinet.
Irani preparing for a legal battle
After the Congress allegations, Smriti Irani is preparing to send a notice to the Congress leader and Mahila Congress President in the case. Refuting the allegations, he had said, “Two middle-aged men have dared to tarnish the honor of an 18-year-old girl.” This girl’s fault is that this girl’s mother contested against Rahul Gandhi from Amethi in 2014 and 2019. The 18-year-old girl whose reputation has been attacked today by Congress spokespersons, the fault of the girl is that her mother Smriti Irani holds press conferences against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. The fault of that 18-year-old girl studying first from college is that her mother held a press conference about the 5 billion loot of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi.
