The spectrum auction for 5G networks in India will begin on July 26. Four companies from the country will participate in the auction. Reliance Jio seems to be leading the race. The company has deposited Rs 14,000 crore with the Department of Telecom.
Bharti Airtel has deposited Rs 5500 crore and Adani Rs 100 crore. Vodafone Idea has deposited Rs 2200 crore. However, it has been clear to the Adani group that they do not want to enter the telecom business and will use 5G to improve their business. But what does this auction mean and will it affect your daily activities?
of spectrum what is the meaning of auction,
Explaining this, Assistant Professor Sudipta Mishra of IIT Ropar says, “Earlier we used radio. These had AM, medium wave and FM. It used to say how many megahertz or kilohertz can we go on. That means we are different. you can hear different things at different frequencies.
Similarly, there are different frequencies for 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. Spectrum is a range of frequencies used for mobile communication.
Any network is divided into different spectrum bands. The same goes for 5G networks. It is divided into low, high and medium bands.
This time the government will auction the 72 GHz spectrum, which includes low (600 MHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz), medium (3300 MHz) and high (26 GHz) spectrum.
A statement issued by the government in June said: “Telecom companies can be expected to use the medium and high-band spectrum based on 5G technology. Its speed can be 10 times faster than 4G.”

What will be the benefit for you?
5G, as the name suggests, is the fifth generation of mobile networks. These will run at better frequencies, so upload and download speeds are expected to increase.
Sudipta says, “From 3G to 4G you can see that the data speed has become very good. The cost to the operator has come down which has made data cheaper and now they are offering many other services as well . Many more services than 5G How mapping applications will improve.”
Mobile phone users in India often complain about slow Internet drops. So will these complaints go away with the arrival of 5G? Experts believe that it is difficult to answer about this right now.

In countries around the world where 5G is being rolled out, 5G mobile network infrastructure has been seen to be different. A new radio technology with high bandwidth and low latency and a separate network will be needed, apart from the 4G (LTE) and 3G networks.
The speed of 5G is up to 10 Gbps, which is 100 times faster than the 100 Mbps speed of 4G.
According to Sudipta, “If you talk about 4G, then it wasn’t fully 4G. Technically it only stayed at 3.8G. So there are a lot of expectations from 5G, but how much it can live up to remains to be seen . be interesting.”
“But 5G shouldn’t be looked at just for data speed. In the future ,internet of things, It will be of great use to him.”

internet of things What is
Speed is only one part of 5G, its usefulness will increase in many areas in the coming time. It may make your daily work easier.
Right now we are using the internet mainly on mobile phones and computers. But by connecting to 5G, we will also be able to connect Refrigerator, TV, Microwave, Washing Machine and AC to the Internet at high speed, you can make everything work by connecting to the Internet.
5G latency will be much lower. Latency is the time it takes for a command to reach the server from the device, that is, if we send a signal from a device to something to do some work, then it will reach there very quickly, this will make many tasks easier.
But this will require better infrastructure and companies will need time to deliver it to you. And its effectiveness will also depend on the infrastructure of the companies.
It may take a few years to get these facilities in India, but the companies claim that they will bring 5G soon. Some mobile phones have also become 5G compatible.
So if 5G comes next year, what will be the benefit to you immediately.
Professor Sudipta says: “If we talk about cities, let’s say I have a 5G phone, I will be able to use services and data better. Things like e-learning will be better. You want to locate services and places, you will be able to do that easily. If the things related to home automation are in the house, then we can use them in a better way.”
“Speaking of the people, many things related to e-government and agriculture will improve. Many new services will have to be created according to the technology. Until these services are made for them, it will not be of much benefit to them.”
However, he also says that some companies have brought a lot of new technology over the past year, and to say that new 5G-enabled devices will take a long time would be a mistake.
Will your phone bill go down?
What the cost of 5G will be in the country may depend on how much money the companies spend on auctioning the spectrum. But competition among telecom companies in India is very less. This is why the dominant company can keep its prices higher.
But with the arrival of 5G, 4G and 3G C services will not end, they will continue to work together.
