Around 3 pm on Friday, the wall of the house under construction collapsed on top of six children who were returning from school in Hussainpur Shahzadpur village in Dadon police station. All the children were buried under the rubble of the wall. All the children were removed by clearing the debris, in which one died on the spot, while the other child, who was critically injured, succumbed to his injuries on the way to JN Medical College.
Four more children injured in the accident have been admitted to the Community Health Center of Charra, where they are undergoing treatment. On information, SDM Atrauli Ravi Shankar Singh and CO Barla Shivpratap Singh also reached the village. The SDM assured to get financial help from the government to the families of the deceased according to the rules.
Kalu alias Abhishek Kumar, Abhishek, Sachin and Yatin, Prashant and Gaurav of the village study from Class III to V in a school located in the neighboring village of Ninmai. Everyone was coming home after the school holidays on Friday. As soon as he reached the village, it started to rain heavily. To avoid the rain, all the children were passing by the wall of the house under construction of Atar Singh’s son Soran Singh when the wall collapsed. All the children were buried under the rubble of the wall.
There was an outcry in the village because of the children’s debris. According to information, Station House Officer Ravi Chandrawal reached the village with the police. The police personnel along with the villagers took out all the children by removing the debris from the wall, by which time Kalu alias Abhishek’s 12-year-old son Rampal Singh had died. Abhishek’s 10-year-old son Talwar Singh was seriously injured, who the family was taking to JN Medical College, but he too died on the way. The police have sent the bodies of both for an autopsy.
