Municipal businessman Amarpal Singh said that between 11.30 am and 4.30 pm there was a power failure in Industrial Area Phase-2 due to which a lot of work in his factory was affected. It was reported that the power was affected by a problem with the power line coming from outside. However, the department assures that electricity has now been restored in almost all areas.

Electricity went out in Sector-20A at 12.30 pm, which did not come till 6 pm. Even before that, the cuts kept happening for a while. The electricity went out in the morning in Sector-8, it arrived at 2.30 in the afternoon. In Mauli complex, first power cut at 5 am, then it came at 8 and after a while it was cut again, then power came around 4 pm. Local people said that due to lack of electricity, even water was not coming. People in the area had to go to work without bathing. Even in Sector-32, the electricity that went off since morning did not come till evening. Apart from this, electricity was affected in many areas including Sector 17, 27, 26, Vidhan Sabha, Punjab-Haryana Secretariat, Sector 18, 45C, Khuda Alisher, Cambwala, Manimajra, Khudda Jassu .
