The South East Central Railway (SECR) has again canceled 10 trains from September 7 to 17. At the same time, four trains will stop midway and 7 trains will run on the diverted route. Railway has informed about duplication of work at Lakholi-Raipur and other development works including modernization of yard of Mandir Hasaud railway station in Raipur division of railway to affect the running of trains.

Railway officials said that duplication work is being carried out between Lakholi-Raipur RV Block Hut railway section of Raipur railway division. Simultaneously, the modernization of Mandir Hasaud railway station yard, commissioning of Naya Raipur station between Lakholi-Mandir Hasaud, electrification works between Raipur-Lakholi and other works of development Because of this, the operation of trains on this route will be affected.

On August 28, 58 trains were cancelled
Earlier, on the pretext of development work in the Rajnandgaon Kalmana railway section, the Railways had canceled 58 trains simultaneously for a week on August 28. Since the first week of August i.e. Raksha Bandhan festival trains are continuously canceled which is also fiercely opposed in Chhattisgarh.

State BJP President spoke to Railway Minister
Bharatiya Janata Party Chhattisgarh State President and Bilaspur Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Arun Saw had demanded delay in running of trains in Chhattisgarh, restoration of canceled trains and resumption of railway stops closed. He had a telephonic conversation with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav regarding railway facilities in Chhattisgarh. Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav was said to have taken MLA Arun Sao’s words seriously and assured to speak to the officials to resolve the issues at the earliest. But, even after the Railway Minister spoke to the state BJP president, the railway administration has again canceled the trains.
